I had skipped long trips last month, but with warmer weather I set out toward the Noto Peninsula on the Sea of Japan side.

This leg stayed within Toyama Prefecture. I returned to Takaoka City — my last visit was about a year earlier. I started walking right around shift change in the nightlife quarter, passing pickup cars several times.

Around the station, locals heading home and what looked like business travelers kept the foot traffic moving. A short walk away, the streets went quiet fast — mostly just runners passing by.

From the station-front road, I head toward Kiri-no-ki-dori (桐の木通り) — Takaoka's main nightlife strip. After a short walk, Maruzen Parking's green "P vacant" sign comes into view. Hotel Alpha-1's blue neon and a Nihonkai Shoya sign glow further down. Few pedestrians pass by.
